Dante came to us from a woman who rescues Premarin horses out of Canada. Premarin is a female hormone replacement therapy wrought in controversy; not the least of which is for putting female draft horses on an assembly line and keeping them perpetually pregnant to collect their urine (Pregnant Mare Urine). The males are not necessary in such an unnatural world, and they are sold for meat to Japan or France, or otherwise simply disposed of.

Fortunately, Dante was rescued from this dreadful situation, and he has found his permanent home here at LARC. Being removed from his mother so early, he developed a fast and lasting dependency on Megan, our massive Shire mare.
