Rainier was found in Los Angeles by Animal Services. At the time of his capture, Rainier had worn his nails down to the quick, the pads of his feet were chewed up, and one of his front canines broken off. LARC can only surmise that Rainier had spent every minute of every day trying to get out of a concrete pad enclosure and chain link fence. Rainier was also severely underweight and terrified of human interaction. Over the past 5 years, Rainier has healed and grown to selectively share his space, not only with Nala, but with some of the Veterans enrolled in the program. Rainier’s favorite thing is to frolic in a water dish and run around the enclosure with Nala.
